Set Real Goals

Reading a book a week, losing X amount of pounds, and eating healthy are some of the most common resolutions people have for the new year. Most of the time, these goals are unrealistic or set to be achieved in a short period of time, and when people don’t see the results they are expecting, they quit and go back to their old ways.

Smart Cookie tip: set realistic goals for short term periods and track your progress.

Buy a Planner/ Use your Phone’s Calendar:

Writing down your tasks, due dates and goals will help you keep track of them as well as the progress. It will also push you to do the tasks you have written down because you’ll need to cross them off your list! This will be especially helpful during those days that you feel drowned at work because you’ll have a plan on how to tackle your day!

Smart Cookie tip: write down everything from going to the gym, to the due date for a big project. This will help you visualize your day, week and even month!

Vision Board:

Find an empty wall at your house or office, and put together a collage of things to inspire you to achieve your goals. Include your dream house, your dream job, and your fashion inspiration. Visualizing your goals will help you achieve them faster, and will constantly remind you of the things you need to do to get there.

Smart Cookie tip: cut some figures from your favorite magazines for a fun collage!

Get Rid of the Things You Don’t Need Anymore

Once you are done with those magazines, make sure to trash ones you are not interested in anymore. While doing so, pile up the clothes you have not worn in a while and donate it to a local shelter. Do the same with old bed sheets, shoes and any clutter you have in your room/ apartment. Starting the year off with a clean place will inspire you to achieve more during the year.

Smart Cookie tip: make sure this is one of the first things you do this new year to kickstart the rest of the year!

With these Smart Cookie tips, you will be able to achieve every one of those resolutions you set in December. Remember to reward yourself with a Cookie Cup!
